Marco David : Senior Pastor

Pastor Marco David came to know Jesus as His Redeemer and Lord at the age of seventeen after a zealous evangelist and Baptist preacher, Joseph Pagan, knocked on his brother’s apartment door. Both Marco and his brother were eternally saved that morning and their lives would never be the same. Soon after his conversion he had a strong desire to know God’s Word and to share its truth with others.

At 19 years of age he became a correction officer at Joliet Correctional Center, and at the age 24 he joined the Chicago Police Department where he served the city for 20 years in a variety of capacities, (i.e. beat officer, community policing, dare/great officer, marine unit secretary and Police Academy instructor). Before he realized his calling to preach, his pastor saw in him a strong evangelistic zeal, a hunger for the Word of God, and a capacity to make disciples of Christ. While still a Police Officer, he was given opportunities to teach adult Sunday school classes and to occasionally preach. Shortly after, during a Mission Conference, he sensed God’s call to preach at the age of 23 and was ordained to the gospel ministry in April of 2000.

Pastor Marco served as Assistant Pastor/Senior Pastor of Light House Baptist Church (6 yrs) and as an Associate/Interim Pastor at Midwest Bible Church (9 yrs) . He also served as Chapter Director of Reformers Unanimous Addiction Program (5 yrs). In January 2015, he retired from the Chicago Police Department to become the lead Pastor of Midwest Bible Church. His passion is to make disciples that spread the fame of Jesus as he prayerfully relies on the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. His life verse: Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me” (Colossians 1:28-28).

He is married to his high sweetheart, Elizabeth, who he led to Christ shortly after he was saved. They have been married for almost 28 years and have 4 sons: Andrew (27), Adam (26), Aaron (22), and Alex (20). His wife teaches at the school the church owns and operates, Midwestern Christian Academy.  His 3 oldest sons followed in his footsteps and are Police Officers and his youngest son, who is in college, is also aspiring to join the force.
